What do you love about UL Lafayette?
UL is a vibrant and progressive university in a great city. Oh, did I mention it’s also my alma mater.

Area of Scholarship or Expertise:
Counseling children and adolescents, play therapy, counseling victims of abuse

Practicum; Internship; and Group Work; Multicultural Counseling; Counseling in Community Settings; Relationship, Marriage, and Family Counseling; Introduction to Play Therapy; Advanced Play Therapy

Where are you originally from?
Alexandria, La.

What was your first job and what did you learn from it?
My first job was as a waitress. I became a big tipper after that experience.

Outside Interests:
Spending time with my daughter (she usually gets to pick what we do), going to our family camp, photography

Person who influenced you the most:
I have my graduate professors to thank for helping me achieve my goals.

Why you do what you do:
As a play therapist I am able to interact and learn from children regularly, which is invigorating and inspiring. Oh, and the playing is fun too.
As a counselor educator I hope to help students achieve their goals in the counseling profession.

What do you want to give your students?
I hope to provide an enjoyable, collaborative learning experience.

Why you are at UL Lafayette:
For the opportunity to give back to my alma mater by helping build and strengthen the Counselor Education Program.
